We stopped over in Sendai on the way from Sapporo to Tokyo on the shinkansen, to break up the trip. Sendai's a large city in Tohoku, only 1.5 hours from Tokyo on the bullet train. We were staying in Matsushima, but it's a sleepy town and everything was shut when we arrived, so we headed back to Sendai (only 30 mins on the local train). First we had ramen at T's TanTan, a vegan ramen restaurant (the same as the ones in Tokyo Station and Ueno). I had my favourite golden sesame ramen, and Phil gives us his meat-eater's review of the vegan tonkotsu ramen. Then we have fun in the arcades (game centres), trying to win kawaii plushies from UFO catchers. Finally, there are a few wins!
